The Outlaws of Down Cthulhu
Coppertown: Ancient Pueblo cliff dwellings; Freeborn found a cave w/ cave paintings unlike any he’d ever seen: humans in terrible anguish preyed upon and eaten by squid-like creatures devouring them, sacrifice to tentacled things but snake form scratched into rock atop it. The tunnel was about 10’ around and glassy smooth, like the sides had been fired or melted smooth.
Pueblo here worship a deity called Yig, who they say saved their culture from the tentacled ones long ago. A serpent being, Freeborn says is common across the west in one form or another in Indian myth. Their Medicine Man gave us a symbol he said will keep their creatures at ay: 5 pointed star w/ symbol in the center; and a protective chant to go with it. It also gave Anne her senses back w/ a touch in fight vs Shaggoth.
Beasley’s, Hodges, Fisher, Crawford all worshiping tentacled being(s). All killed by us.
Shaggoth was chased into the earth, flow of water hurt it badly, but it got away w/ a bunch of its eggs. Cave is blown w/ TNT.
We took a small pagan fetish from Fisher’s desk, about 6" tall of green stone; stooped fat man with long hair and beard, closer look and they are actually snakes or tentacles. Hands are more tenticular than bony, legs end in something closer to fishtales than feet. It feels slimy, causing a wave of repulsive loathing. This was given to Wang Wei.
Hastur: King in Yellow, heard of via his sign in New Oreans. His world is Carchosa which he tried to bring to Earth in New Orleans. Revealed by Etienne subconcioulsy to have been the real mover in his original raid, this Cthulhu thing just a cover/herald/something.
Lillith: some evil who Wei thinks is the image on pendant brought by the Counter Earth travellers. Adam’s first wife/queen of demons/married to Satan; destruction; supposedly and Old One locked away in another dimension. 3 names/aspects: Lillith, Satan, and Elemental Evil/Jubilex/Graz’zt/Unspeakable One.
Loa: told to us via book by Del Rio, some kind of monster. Often worshiped by an evil Conjure Doctors and followers; could be another form or name for Old One Cthulhu or a servant.
